Could President Obama be the Antichrist?

I’ve heard a lot of people remark about President Obama being a Messiah, and many have claimed that, or asked me about, him possibility being the Antichrist. So, since we, as I believe, are living in the end times, could it be possible that he is the Antichrist? He is a great deceiver and smooth talker like Antichrist is going to be and Obama does seem to want a new world order, but what else does the bible say about the Antichrist? Well, the bible doesn’t give us anything definite enough where we can say this man is the Antichrist until he actually takes power at the beginning of the tribulation. And since God will have raptured His church by then, we as Christians will not be here when this happens. But the bible does tell us where Antichrist is going to come from.

Revelation 13:1 tells us;

And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads.   Rev 13:1 (ESV)

The sea that John is referring to here would be the Mediterranean sea, so Antichrist is going to come from one of the Mediterranean countries. This suggests that he will be a Gentile, and will come out of what was the Roman Empire

In the book of Daniel, we find this in one of Daniel’s visions;

Then the goat became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven. Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.  It grew great, even to the host of heaven.  Dan 8:8-10 (ESV)

Later, the Angel interprets the dream for Daniel;

And the goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn between his eyes is the first king.  As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power. And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a king of bold face, one who understands riddles, shall arise. His power shall be great— but not by his own power; and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints.  By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind he shall become great. Without warning he shall destroy many. And he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but by no human hand. The vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been told is true, but seal up the vision, for it refers to many days from now.”   Dan 8:21-26 (ESV)

These verses are referring to the Antichrist (the little horn) and from them we find that he will be part Greek.

Also in Daniel, we learn this;

And the king shall do as he wills. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done. He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all.     Dan 11:36-37 (ESV)

This suggests that he will have some Jewish blood since “He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers,” although he may keep this fact hidden.

From all of this, we can gather that Antichrist will be part Greek, with some Jewish blood and will come from the area of the old Roman Empire. This description does not match President Obama.

But could President Obama have a role in the end times? I definitely believe so. Revelation tells us this;

As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast.   Rev 17:11-13 (ESV)

This tells us that Antichrist is going to have his power given to him from ten world leaders, President Obama could very well be one of these horns, or kings.

But all of this conjecture is pointless, no one will know who Antichrist is until he takes power, so looking for him now makes no sense. The next sign of the end times to look for is not the Antichrist, it’s the prophesized attack on Israel lead by Russia and Iran described in Ezekiel 38-39. After God destroys this attack, Ezekiel says this;

“Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, clubs and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years, so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they will make their fires of the weapons. They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God. Ezek 39:9-10 (ESV)

 This tells us that Israel will live off the salvage of the battle for seven years. And since Revelation says that Israel will have to hide in a place God has prepared for them for the last three and one half years, this attack has to happen at least three and one half years before the Antichrist appears and the tribulation starts.
