Even though a-lot of things are in the bible long before science found them out, many people have trouble having faith to believe in a god they can’t see. But who really needs more faith? Looking at the facts, evolutionists need much more faith for their beliefs. They believe in the theory of evolution despite the fact that there is absolutely NO evidence of it! Even Charles Darwin admitted that there is no evidence for his theory, but he believed that we would find it. Now, 125 years after his death science still hasn’t found evidence of his theory, but evolutionists are still looking. This desire, to find proof of their beliefs, has lead to mistaken assumptions and some outright fraud. Missing links have been trumpeted and later forgotten when they didn’t pan out. Neanderthal man is probably the most well known of them. But when orthodontist Dr. Jack Cuozzo took precise measurements of Neanderthal skulls using x-rays (like an orthodontist does before straightening teeth) he found the lower jaws had been shoved forward as much as an inch to make them look more ape-like. Now, many scientists believe Neanderthal was a very old man with arthritis. In the bible, before the flood man lived hundreds of years, I would call that very old. These could be fossils of pre-flood humans. All other missing link fossils have proven to be mistakes (actually bones of monkeys and even a pig!) or forgeries where bones were adjusted and filed down to make them look part man part monkey. Also, scientists can’t figure out the “primordial soup” that life supposedly came from. If scientists can’t figure it out and re-create it, it really takes a-lot of faith to believe it happened by accident. Even if there were a recipe for this soup, and lightning could start life from it. The chances of just the right amounts of just the right ingredients being together and getting struck by just the right amount of electricity, are so remote they qualify as being scientifically impossible. It would be like an explosion in a bakery storeroom producing cookie dough! It’s the same thing with the chances of the earth being in a perfect position and with just the right size moon and with just the right atmosphere and just the right conditions to support life, the odds are scientifically impossible. The bible says with God all things are possible. So which takes more faith, believing we were created by all powerful God which we can’t see, or in an accident which is scientifically impossible?
But if the most logical conclusion is we were created, why Christianity, why is it different from other religions? The difference is all other major religions follow the teachings of a person about a god. Christianity follows the teachings of God himself. None of the other religious leaders claimed to be God. In the beginning of his gospel, John makes this statement 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made and later 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. “And the word became flesh leaves no doubt that the word is Jesus and that Jesus was here during creation. This is why in Genesis 1 verse 26 God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” The one He was talking to was Jesus. Jesus confirms this in John 8: 58 when He tells the Jews, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” Jesus also made many other references to being the Son of God. But Jesus, being an all knowing God also knew that people would be skeptical of this claim, even the people who saw Him perform miracles were skeptical. So Jesus provided proof of who He is. He rose from the dead. In John chapter two we find the story of Jesus cleansing the temple.
What was happening was merchants were setting up shop in the temple selling oxen, sheep and pigeons to people to sacrifice so they wouldn’t have to bring their own. The priests condoned this, probably because they were getting some of the profits. When Jesus saw this, He became enraged and chased them out of the temple calling it “My Father’s house”. Since the temple was God’s house they asked Jesus to prove this claim. John says this in verses 19-21 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body. Here, like He often did, Jesus was speaking in a parable. What Jesus was really saying was “I’ll prove it to you by doing what only God could do, you can kill me and after three days I’ll come back from the grave.” That’s a pretty awesome statement and a very powerful way to prove He is God, and He backed it up. So who would you rather follow, someone who is dead, or someone who has been there and back again?
